Day 1 Today, travel to takes you to Waco, TX. Enjoy an overnight Dinner is on your own this evening.
Day 2 -Magnolia Market & the Silos -San Antonio, TX -The morning is yours to explore Magnolia Market and the Silos owned by Chip & Joanna Gaines, hosts of Fixer Upper. Magnolia Market and its ,famous landmark silos occupy two city blocks in downtown Waco. Take your time exploring the Market, play games on the lawn, or touring the garden. Magnolia Home, Silos Baking Co., and Shops at the Silos round out the complex. And have lunch on your own at the 'Siloteria' -a collection of food trucks located here.
This afternoon, depart for San Antonio, TX where you enjoy a three-night stay at the Drury Inn & Suites Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk. Dinner is on your own this evening, but you can take advantage of the hotel's 5:30 kickback featuring a rotating menu of hot foods and cold beverages. The hotel is also located on the San Antonio River, . 1 walking distance from shops, restaurants and entertainment. Relax in the sun on the deck of the rooftop pool, which also has two whirlpools! Formerly the Alamo National Bank, this 24-story renovated skyscraper features SO-foot ceilings, travertine flooring and stained glass windows. (B)
Day 3 -Full Day Tour of San Antonio with The Alamo -Enchilada Cooking School with Margaritas -This morning, meet your local guide for a full day of San Antonio sightseeing. Your guide will point out local history and accompany you to the attractions that you visit today. Also included is a visit to the Historic Alamo, the sight of the famous losing battle that helped secure Texas' independence from Mexico.
Tonight'S dinner is in a classroom, complete with a cooking demonstration. You will learn how
to make the perfect Enchilada paired with the perfect margaritas. This two-hour class includes
cooking instruction where you learn to make Enchilada Verdes (chicken enchilada with tangy green tomatillo sauce) served with rice, borracho beans, handmade flour or corn tortillas, and a non-alcoholic beverage. You will also be instructed on how to make two (2) popular margaritas and receive servings of both. The event ends with a dessert of fabulous tres leches cake, and a souvenir recipe card. (B, D)
Day 4 -San Antonio Rivervalk Cruise -Shopping at EI Mercardo -This morning, enjoy a scenic cruise on the River Walk. This cruise will connect you to the city's culture, history, architecture, and timeless charm. Next, you will have free time for lunch on own and shopping at El Mercado. This Market Square is largest Mexican Market in the U.S. EI Mercado brings the spice of Mexico to San Antonio. There are over 25 different shops and vendors, you can do some of your best bargain hunting. Items range from glassware, leather goods, vanilla, and other colorful treasures. Tonight, enjoy dirmer at Cafe Ole. It is The Place to satisfy your cravings for delicious Tex-Mex Cuisine. (B, D)
Day 5 -Fort Worth, TX -Stockyard Museum -Fort Worth Stockyards -This morning, depart San Antonio after breakfast and travel to Fort Worth, TX. Visit the Stockyards Museum showcasing the rich history of the Fort Worth Stockyards and the north side of Fort Worth. There is a growing collection of artifacts, photos and exhibits that document everything from our Native American connections, the Chisholm Trail, the livestock market/stockyards to the Swift and Armour Packing plants. Visitors can experience why Fort Worth is known as "Cowtown" and learn how the Stockyards helped make Fort Worth the Texasmost city.
Enjoy free time this afternoon at the Fort Worth Stockyards. FOlt Worth is where the West begins, and nothing embodies Western heritage better than the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. From the original brick walkways to the wooden corrals, every inch of the Stockyards tells the true history of Texas's famous livestock industry. Enjoy exploring, shopping and dinner on your own. End the day by checking into the Courtyard Marriott Stockyards, one of the best historic Stockyards hotels. (B)
Day 6 -Depart for Home -After breakfast, depart for home with stops made in enroute. Arrive in Grove, OK this evening. (B)
